I Yearn For A Land

I yearn for a land that is much sweeter

Where perfection will reign forevermore

There I will be met by my precious Savior

Jesus will lead me through an open door

I will fall down on my knees as I meet Him

Weeping when I see His nail scarred feet

Knowing He died a cruel death on Earth

Dying for our sins made His life complete

He will smile as I look up and see His face

He will tell me I did good when down on Earth

In His hand He will have a jeweled Gold crown

It’s beauty will show I have gained it’s worth

In this land God has created for all His believers

Will be far more than we could have ever dreamed

How glad we will be that we listened to His teaching

To have ignored the devil and the plans he schemed

What Is Happening Today

We often reflect back to times long ago

When it was less hectic than it is today

Peaceful times were pleasing back then

Today you can’t let the children out to play

It is a much different world we live in today

Sad to see some of the terrible things we see

Tragic events seem to happen about every day

Is God telling us something, you know it might be

With fine policemen being killed almost daily

What can we do to stop this kind of hostility

We might start by praying to a merciful God

To make streets much safer for you and me

God didn’t make this world to be a battleground

But it seems as if some think that it should be

With total disregard for all human life they kill

Perhaps it is through drug dimmed eyes they see

His Loving Grace

As these days rapidly fade away

Closer to Heaven my soul shall be

On that day I shall meet my Savior

It is a beautiful Heaven I will see

How thankful I saw what He meant

When He guided me along that path

That has lead me to see the light

I will be safe from any of His wrath

With this feeling of love in my heart

Every thought is for my precious Lord

My home shall be with all believers

Its a place where none could be bored

Though I have never seen His Heaven

I know it must be a wonderful place

One day I will get to see my Savior

I have been saved by His loving Grace

A Home In Heaven

There is so much sadness in this world

Every day something troubles our mind

Some of these things we can see plainly

To many of the others we are always blind

Oh we see headlines in the newspaper

On TV and radio we can find the news

But how much is kept secret to the people

Things our eyes will never see these views

News is so slanted by some of the networks

It is hard to determine what is wrong or right

I guess they think we are a bunch of morons

They think someone has turned off our light

There is only one truth that we need know

God is alive and in Him we should believe

Confessing your sins and worshipping Him

Do these things a home in Heaven you achieve

Hear Of Jesus

In this ever changing world of ours

Heartaches come in many a way

We can dream of a perfect world

Somehow that dream fades away

Nearly every day we hear of trouble

At times it is home times it is foreign

We hear leaders of countries cussing

This is how many wars have begun

If only they thought of what comes next

They would use some common sense

Asking God to help them in all the ways

Would always be their greatest defense

But sadly even our own country fails

To understand what He can do for us

With religion taken out of our schools

Only at church do they hear of Jesus

I Want To Go

In the quiet time of evening I meditate

I think of what has happened this day

Knowing the Lord above can hear me

I fall on my knees and I begin to pray

I thank him for giving me another day

To be here with my wife I dearly love

Knowing it won't be too many years

Until I see my savior in Heaven above

Clearly the life I have lived isn’t sin free

I have asked for forgiveness to my Lord

He knows I have strayed off of the path

I pray to Him it isn’t more than I can afford

When that final curtain is pulled for me

There is something I want God to know

I love and respect everything about Him

No doubt it is up to Heaven I want to go

My Friend Doug Coleman

I have a deep sorrow that is in my heart this day

Since I heard my friend Doug has passed away

I have known this fine man for many long years

For his wife and all his family I do to God pray

Doug was a man who tried to make things better

Dedicating his life to the community where he lived

He served as a trustee and a County commissioner

I think back and find I have fond memories relived

I remember when he and his wife Kathy were married

A young couple who proved their love would ever be

Doug worked after school hours until he graduated

Then driving one of Boone’s trucks I would then see

Doug some day I will be with you up in God’s place

There we can talk over all the good times we knew

Until that time you shall ever be in my heart and mind

It was so great that I had a wonderful friend like you
