Our Friend Jesus

Yesterdays sins are gone since I met Jesus

He died on a wooden cross to set me free

I thank our Heavenly Father for sending Him

He has built a land of freedom for you and me

Free from those hardships we found on Earth

Happiness will be ours as we walk with Him

To worship Him with gladness inside our heart

He has filled my cup of kindness up to the brim

Never more will the devil control the way I live

My heart is uncluttered from the devil’s scheme

He can now no longer be doing these sordid tricks

I am through with the devil and his unproven dream

All the days I spent on Earth has convinced me

There is a greater place that God has made for us

Great mansions where we shall all live eternally

There in that promised land with our friend Jesus

In Control

I was like a ship drifting on a sea

Not knowing where I was bound

Then I met our dear Savior Jesus

A whole new life I have now found

He took me out of my sinning ways

He taught what was right or wrong

That when the devil approached me

I must stand up to him and be strong

He told me there was a place up high

Where no storm clouds could appear

Only beautiful weather we see there

Every day shall be sparkling and clear

Now that I have found where I an going

I must thank Jesus for saving my soul

He showed me the right sea I must sail

Today I know God has things in control

He Atones

I’ll follow Him where ever He leads me

His voice is the only one I want to hear

He tells us of a City where life is Eternal

He is our Savior to me that is very clear

I know He is always walking beside me

He guides my path and keeps me strong

Some day I shall meet Him up in Heaven

He will welcome me in it is there I belong

A home of great beauty awaits in Heaven

Made by God with all of His upmost care

These magnificent homes will be for us all

When we reach that Promise Land up there

A crown He will give me when I enter there

Bejeweled with so many dazzling stones

I will tremble with many heartfelt emotions

For all my sins I have committed He atones

His Plan

No Tears in Heaven only joy abounds

To be with the Lord brings us true love

Peace will be the feelings we have there

Forever to live with our God up above

His is the only way we can reach Heaven

Jesus died taking our sins as if His own

He was nailed to that old wooden cross

It was one of the most cruel acts known

Jesus did this so we could go to Heaven

He died a death just like any mortal man

Then He broke the bondage of the tomb

He went to Heaven to complete His plan

I want to see Him up there one bright day

Where I shall live an eternal life with Him

If you do not know Him as a personal Savior

Your chances of ever seeing Him is very dim

I Believe In Him

I know when this earthly life is over

Near God’s throne I’ll rest my feet

God will smile as I am resting there

My search for His love is complete

To know His land shall be my home

There will never be a thing I will fear

Knowing He will ever be beside me

As we talk we both can plainly hear

Happiness abounds up in God’s land

Not a grumpy face can there be found

Beautiful music will be played by angels

God will praise their wonderful sound

There is cheer in my heart because I know

He has made it clear these things I must do

To admit I am a lowly sinner saved by Him

I must let Him know that I believe in Him too

In Heaven With Gene

Among the many people gathered here

Are gifted baseball players of yesteryear

We were amazed at the way they played

Some would dive into bases with no fear

Gene Bennett signed some of these players

He had an uncanny eye as he saw them play

It is sad that Gene is not here with us tonight

In Heaven he will watch his Reds every day

Tom Browning who is tonights guest speaker

Back on September nineteenth of eighty eight

After a well over two hour rain delay did pitch

A perfect game saw by those that stayed late

So many of the great players we see tonight

We would like to thank them all for their play

Perhaps they can all meet Gene up in Heaven

Where they can play baseball games every day

That Path

I believe God gives us a path to walk on

Some will stay on that path others won’t

Those who read the Holy Bible understand

Those who never read that Holy book don’t

It is said If you believe and admit your sins

Your path will lead you up to that Glory land

But sadly if you have chosen the wrong path

You will find after this Earthly life it isn’t grand

A devil waiting if you get on that wrong path

Because that path will lead you straight to hell

He will fill your head with sins beyond thoughts

He will make you think that you are doing well

You can get off that wrong path if you talk to God

He will listen to everything you want to talk about

So tonight before you go to bed get on your knees

Ask Him forgiveness for sin it will make you shout
